MADY WACHAL LEADS HUSKIES PAST SAINTS IN NINTH STRAIGHT WIN

The fourth-ranked Jackson County Central softball team won a ninth straight game on Tuesday in St. James.
Mady Wachal led the Huskies to a 7-1 road win over the Saints.
She tossed 10 strikeouts during her complete-game performance with one run allowed on six hits plus one walk. She also had a trio of hits, batted in a run, stole a pair of bases, and scored once.
JCC took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, added three more in the fourth, and one more in the fifth. The Saints scored in the sixth. The Huskies scored another run in the seventh for the final tally.
Kinley VanDeVere had a pair of hits including a double, plated one run, and scored once. Brielle Tufvession had her own pair of hits, one RBI, and scored one run. Clara Brinks smacked a double and scored once. Hadley Wachal walked twice and scored twice. Baylie Holmes had one hit and scored a run.
The 12-1 Huskies are hosting Redwood Valley for a doubleheader on Thursday.
