The state-ranked Martin County West softball team stayed unbeaten at home against GHEC-T-ML on Wednesday.
The Mavericks took down the Jaguars 14-0 in five innings.
MCW scored nine runs in the first inning, two in the second, and three in the third.
Rowan Faber collected three hits including a triple and double in the first inning and batted in a pair of runs. Lillie Schultz had a pair of hits including a double and plated a pair of runs. Emily Schettler smacked a three-run triple among four RBIs. Addy Wohlhuter had a pair of hits and RBIs. Emma Geldart had a pair of hits including a double and three RBIs. Bailey Larson had one hit and batted in a run.
Maddie Carlson got the win in the circle while allowing one hit while striking out six and walking one in a pair of innings. Sydney Clow pitched a pair of no-hit innings with a strikeout and a walk. Faber tossed one shutout inning.
MCW has beaten every Class A opponent by run rule so far this season.
The 8-0 Mavericks host Cleveland for a key doubleheader showdown between the top teams in the Valley division on Thursday.
MCW is 7-0 in Section 2A play and 5-0 in Tomahawk/Valley Conference play with a 4-0 mark at home.
The Clippers are 10-2 overall, 4-0 in Tomahawk/Valley Conference play, 6-2 in the section, and 4-1 on the road so far this season. Cleveland’s only two losses are to state-ranked United South Central and New Ulm Cathedral.
