CHRISTENSON, WOHLHUTER LEAD MAVERICKS IN ST. JAMES

Evelynn Christenson and Kane Wohlhuter each led the Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin track and field teams to fifth-place finishes.
Christenson picked up another win in the 1600 Meters in 5:51 for her season best. The MCW/BO girls had a pair of runner-up finishes, a pair of third-place finishes, a trio of fourth-place finishes, and a trio of sixth-place finishes.
The MCW/BO girls collected 55 points for fifth place. St. James-Madelia scored 146 as the top girls team. River Valley was second with 126.5, Maple River had 116.5, and G-F-W scored 70 ahead of MCW/BO. Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey had 40 for sixth place.
Wohlhuter jumped nine feet on the Pole Vault to win for the MCW/BO boys. The Mavericks also took home five fourth-place finishes, a pair of fifth-place finishes, and a pair of sixth-place finishes.
The MCW/BO boys collected 38 points for fifth place. Maple River scored 198.5 points as the top boys team. River Valley scored 138, St. James-Madelia scored 98, and G-F-W scored 44.5 ahead of MCW/BO. Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey also had 37 for sixth place.
