MILLER, MOHNS LEAD HUSKIES IN BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE ACTION

Tavin Miller led the Jackson County Central boys golf team at home and Mya Mohns led the girls on the road during Big South Conference Gold division play on Tuesday.

Miller posted a score of 41 on nine holes at the Jackson Golf Club to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place.

Kyler Thier and Jessy Gentry shot 44 as part of a three-way tie for ninth place. Hayden Schultz shot 27 as part of a three-way tie for 27th place. Brock Berkner shot 52 as part of a tie for 30th place. Gavin Pohlman shot 53 to tie for 34th place.

The JCC boys collected a team score of 180 to finish behind event winner Luverne with 164 and Blue Earth Area with 177 as the runner-up. Fairmont and Redwood Valley with 184, Windom Area with 185, and Pipestone Area with 194 finished behind JCC.

Mohns posted a score of 52 on nine holes at Luverne Country Club to tie for 11th place individually.

Adriana Clark shot 62 for 28th place, Taylor Schultz shot 64 to take 29th place, and a three-way tie for 32nd place with a score of 66 included Alana Kalvoda and Lily Brinkman.

The JCC girls collected 244 to finish sixth place behind event winner Luverne with 196, Blue Earth Area with 197, Redwood Valley with 213, Fairmont with 214, and Windom Area with 228. Pipestone Area was incomplete.

The JCC boys are right back in action on Tuesday at the Dodge Invitational hosted by Kasson-Mantorville. The first tee time is at 1:00 p.m. at Dodge Country Club.

The Huskies also host Windom Area on Thursday at Jackson Golf Club.
