HUSKIES WIN ON LAKEFIELD LINKS

Jessy Gentry and Tavin Miller led the Jackson County Central boys golf team and Lily Brinkman led the girls against Martin County West in the Huskies debut at Valley Brook Golf Course on Tuesday.

Gentry and Miller each posted 40 to lead the JCC boys to victory.
Kyler Thier shot 41, Gavin Pohlman shot 43, Linkon Phillips shot 46, and Blayze Hillmer shot 47 for JCC.

Carson Scheff led the MCW boys with 46 to tie for fifth place individually. Kain Grandgenett and Knox Larson each posted 52. Torrey Paplow shot 54, Tanner Anderson shot 55, and Xzavier Moore shot 56 for the Mavericks.

JCC beat MCW 164-204 in the boys team scores.

Lily Brinkman led the JCC girls with a score of 56 as the top performer. Adriana Clark shot 61, Taylor Schultz shot 63, and Alana Kalvoda shot 64 for the Huskies.

The JCC girls collected a team score of 244 while MCW was incomplete.

Mya Smith posted 60 and Aaliyah Bolstad shot 64 for the varsity Mavericks.

The JCC girls are playing in Worthington on Friday. The JCC boys are hosting a Big South Conference division event featuring Pipestone Area, Redwood Valley, and Windom in Jackson on Monday.

The MCW girls and boys are hosting Blue Earth Area and Springfield at Fox Lake Golf Course on Friday.
