MILLER LEADS HUSKIES IN WORTHINGTON TOURNAMENT

Tavin Miller had a busy Friday.

He officially signed with Northwest Iowa Community College Thunder and then, later that same afternoon, he led the Jackson County Central boys golf team to sixth place at the Trojan Invite in Worthington.

Miller posted 82 on 18 holes to finish in a three-way tie for eighth place individually. Jessy Gentry scored 86 to take part in a six-way tie for 13th place. Linkon Phillips shot 93 as part of a five-way tie for 39th place. Kyler Their posted 97 in a tie for 52nd place. Gavin Pohlman was part of a five-way tie for 59th place after shooting 99. Hayden Schultz tied for 66th with a score of 103.

The Huskies collected a team score of 358 for sixth place.

Western Christian took home the team title with 323 ahead of Luverne with 328, Lac qui Parle Valley and Fairmont with 343, and Lakeview with 353 in the top five. Worthington had 363, Windom Area had 364, Pipestone Area had 370, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton had 373, HLOF/WWG had 381, Hills-Beaver Creek had 402, Murray County Central had 404, and Adrian/Ellsworth had 434 behind JCC. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton was incomplete.

The JCC boys and girls are scheduled to play in Windom on Monday.
