Kyler Thier and Tavin Miller led the Jackson County Central boys golf team to a season-opening win against Murray County Central in Slayton on Thursday.
Thier and Miller each posted 41 to share the top score on nine holes at Slayton Country Club. Gavin Pohlman shot 48 and Hayden Schultz shot 50 for the Huskies. Linkon Phillips also shot 53 for the Huskies.
JCC collected a team score of 180 to beat the MCC team total of 199.
Lily Brinkman posted a team-best 56 as the fourth-place individual to lead the JCC girls. Adrianna Clark and Mya Mohns tied with 66 while Alana Kalvoda shot 67 for the Huskies. Taylor Schultz posted 78 for the Huskies.
MCC bested JCC 204-255 in the girls team scores.
The Huskies are scheduled to visit Windom on Monday.
