(Spencer)– The search for a missing Spencer man has ended on an unfortunate note.
Spencer police say they were notified around 9:00 pm this past Sunday evening, March 8th , of a missing person. Family members of 32-year-old Ty Jackson reported he had last been seen around 1:00 am Saturday, March 7th. His cell phone was found near Pete’s Pond, near Oneota Park on the southeast side of Spencer. Volunteers and organizations conducted a search of that area Monday. At about 12 Noon, Jackson’s body was recovered from the pond and was turned over to the State Medical Examiner for further investigation. No other details have been released.
Spencer police were assisted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Conservation, Clay County Emergency Management, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, RIDES, Spencer Planning and Zoning, Spencer Public Works, Spencer Fire Department, Clay County Medical Examiner and nearly 50 volunteers.
