Huskies Battle to 11th Straight Win With Fairmont Going to Jackson on Saturday

The Jackson County Central boys basketball team battled to beat Blue Earth Area for an 11th straight win on Friday night at home.
The Huskies and Buccaneers were tied at 23 at halftime before JCC pulled away to the 64-55 victory.
Weston Rowe posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Roman Voss nearly had one of his own with team-highs of 18 points and nine assists. Sullivan Hall collected 13 points and seven rebounds. Blaise Rowe added 12 points to put four Huskies in double figures. Ben Gallagher scored six points and dished out seven assists.
The Huskies improved to 19-5 overall.

Fairmont Going to Jackson on Saturday

The Jackson County Central basketball teams are hosting a rescheduled doubleheader against a pair of ninth-ranked Fairmont squads on Saturday night.
The Fairmont boys are 19-3 overall after having a 14-game win streak snapped by Waseca in a close home loss on Thursday. The Cardinals outlasted the Huskies 55-47 at home on December 12.
The JCC girls are 10-14 overall after back-to-back losses. The Fairmont girls are 23-1 overall with a 73-28 win over the Huskies on December 12.
The girls varsity tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with the boys to follow on Saturday.

Hungry Huskies Head to Section Meet

The Jackson County Central gymnastics team is headed to the Section 3A Tournament on Saturday.
Huskies head coach Kendell Lubben says they have several potential State qualifiers ready to compete.

The first action begins at 12:00 p.m. inside the Redwood Valley Field House on Saturday.

Eagles Rally to Season Finale Victory

The Windom Area boys hockey team capped the regular season with a victory over Morris/Benson Area on Friday night.
The Storm started the scoring before Andrei Riveri found the equalizer with help from Jackson Veenker and Jonah Lohse. Weston Murray scored with an assist from Cormac Raderstorf to give the Eagles their first lead at 2-1 after the second period. Jessy Gentry added another for Windom with help from Nash Dietz and Weston Murray. The Storm cut it to 3-2 Windom before Ayden Endreson’s empty net goal made the 4-2 final score.
The Eagles are 8-16-1 overall heading into the postseason.
