Accounts Payable Specialist
Join an established, family owned company that has been in business for over 120 years. Shine Bros. Corp. is seeking a detail oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This position is primarily responsible for managing accounts payable functions, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and vendors are paid on time. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in an environment that values accuracy and organization. This is a Full-Time, IN PERSON position. Starting at $20.00/hr and will Depend on Experience.
Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing and managing accounts payable functions for multiple businesses. This role plays a key part in ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time, maintaining organized financial records, and supporting the accounting team with related administrative and clerical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Process high-volume vendor invoices for multiple business entities accurately and efficiently
• Code invoices to the correct entity, department, and general ledger accounts
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, as applicable
• Verify proper approvals and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal staff
• Prepare and process payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and research and resolve variances
• Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely payments
• Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred
• 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience required
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices along with strong math skills
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization with ability to self-review work
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
