(Estherville)– A former administrator at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville is suing the school, claiming she was fired in retaliation for whistleblowing.
Erin Latona, the college’s former Chief Academic Officer, says she was let go after reporting financial irregularities to the FBI and the State Auditor’s Office. The lawsuit claims the college improperly granted federal aid, inflated enrollment numbers, and misused grant funds.
The college president says the school will defend itself in court.
