Spencer Brunch teams up with Clay County Veterans Affairs…
The Dickinson County Conservation Board is inviting the community to learn and participate in citizen science! On Thursday July 10th at 10:30 a.m., Kenue Coffee Hour will be held at Maser Monarch Lodge. This is a free adult program that hosts a speaker that presents about a nature
related topic, and this month’s speaker is Genevieve Pugesek of the Xerces Society.
Pugesek will present about the Iowa Bumblebee Atlas, a community science project that includes citizens tracking data about local bumble bee populations. No registration is required to attend Kenue Coffee Hour, and a light coffee bar is provided.
On the evening of July 10th from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Iowa Bumble Bee Atlas staff will be training 20 preregistered people at a Field Day held at the Dickinson County Nature Center. The field day does not require any experience to attend. Participants will learn how to use an insect net properly, learn to identify bumble bee species, and proper data recording for project.
To register for the Field Day event, go to the link in the event description found at www.dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com. Follow the Dickinson County Nature Center on social media to keep up with their latest news and events.
