Dickinson County Nature Center Summer Camp Registration

Get ready for some unforgettable summer adventures! Registration for Dickinson County Nature Center summer camps opens at 8:00 AM on Monday, March 3rd, offering exciting, hands on experiences for children ranging from Pre-K to 9th grade. Camps will be held in June, July, and part of August, most being held at Maser Monarch Lodge unless otherwise stated.

Immerse young explorers into the pages that nature has written in the outdoors through the theme “Nature Stories.” Each camp session will focus on different aspects of nature, blending science, storytelling, and outdoor exploration. Campers will uncover the hidden tales of wildlife, oak savannas, prairies, and wetlands while engaging in guided hikes, wildlife observation, and hands-on nature crafts.

“Our summer camps are designed to spark curiosity and love for the natural world,” said Amy Heibult, community relations coordinator. “This year’s theme, Nature Stories, will encourage campers to connect with nature through the stories that the land, animals, and plants have to tell.”

The Nature Center is also active in several partnership camps with other local organizations, like Clay County Conservation Board, Iowa Lakeside Laboratory, ISU Extension and Outreach, and Kindermusik at the Lakes.
