KENUE COFFEE HOUR

November’s Kenue Coffee Hour will be a ‘hoot’ as Dickinson County Conservation Board Environmental Education Coordinator Danika Cox will inform attendees about Iowa Owls. Kenue Coffee Hour, a free adult program, will occur at Maser Monarch Lodge on Thursday, November 7th, at 10:30 a.m.

“Each month, we host a unique speaker that presents a topic connected to nature in some regard,” says Amy Heibult, community relations coordinator of the Dickinson County Conservation Board. “This month the audience will learn about local owl species, their behavior, diet, and unusual adaptations that make them excellent predators in the dark.”

Heibult also mentioned that Cox will feature mounted owl specimens to give the audience an up-close view of adaptations. Cox aims for the audience to develop an appreciation for these mysterious birds of prey. “My
hope is that people will leave with a renewed interest in these animals and understand the need to protect them,” said Cox.
