Many Voices Choir Celebrates 35th Anniversary with “The Earth Shall Rejoice” Concert Series

Saturday, April 27, 2024 – 7:30PM – Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center, Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville

The “The Earth Shall Rejoice” concert series will open with a spirited piece by GF Handel and close with the patriotic anthem “And Thou, America,” a cherished selection from the choir’s inaugural concert in 1988. Former members of the Many Voices Choir are invited to join in for this special anniversary piece, symbolizing the enduring tradition of choral excellence cultivated over the past 35 years. Other program highlights include a medley of Broadway hits by Andrew Lloyd Weber, the timeless jazz classic “As Time Goes By,” and the spirited gospel favorite “Shout Glory!” featuring soloist Jeff Giffith. DJ Gommels will accompany the choir, with additional soloists and instrumentalists making notable appearances throughout the performances.

Established in 1988, the Many Voices Choir comprises 40-60 members from over 15 communities in northwest Iowa and southern Minnesota. Barb Bohm, a dedicated longtime member, shares her sentiments, saying, “I have enjoyed singing with the Many Voices since 1989. Singing soothes my soul and the choir has become like family to me.”
