(Arnolds Park)-Arnolds Park Amusement Park will open for the season next week. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Arnolds Park Amusement Park will open for the summer season on May 18.
CEO Jon Pausley says The Park will offer a free night on May 17. “Free night is May 17 from 5:30 to 7:30, kind of a nice little fun evening preview for everyone to be able to come out and enjoy, and we open up to the public from 10 o’clock to 6 o’clock on the 18th. We’re excited next week beginning on Tuesday the 14th to Friday the 17th, we’re also going to have school groups coming through as part of their school week. We’re expecting 4 to 5 thousand kids from local schools all across Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota to join us for those 3 days.”
He adds that the Gift a Smile Program helps fund the school group trips to The Park. “We know that a lot of the kids that come during that week probably either haven’t been to Arnolds Park before, or they don’t get to come very often. So, we’re really grateful that one of our big programs, The Gift a Smile Program, helps fund the week for schools to be able to come and enjoy time. None of the kids complain about being out of school and coming to the amusement park at the end of the school year.”
