(Spencer)-Registration is underway for the Winter Wind event. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Registration is now open for the Winter WIND event which will be held February 10th.
Dickinson County Conservation Environmental Education Coordinator Danika Cox says, the event is designed for women. “So, WIND stands for Women in Nature Day, and it’s a collaboration between Clay County Conservation Board, our organization, which is the Dickinson County Conservation Board, Iowa Lakeside Lab and the ISU Extension and Outreach. So, what we did is, we all got together and we are having this day that women can come and just kind of hang out with other women, give them an opportunity to enjoy some winter recreation activities with other like-minded individuals.”
She says it will mostly be taking place in Spencer. “It’s going to be taking place at The Oneota Cabin in Spencer except for the Ice Fishing Session will not be there. Ice Fishing will be over at Scharnberg Park, and then if you choose to do the Gun Safety portion, that will be at the gun range, of course.”
