(Storm Lake)– An Albert City man has been charged in connection to a series of thefts at one of the Tyson plants in Storm Lake.
Authorities say 65-year-old Michael Masters surrendered himself at the Storm Lake Police Department on Monday of this week. Masters was wanted on warrants that stemmed from a report to Storm Lake Police in May of this year regarding multiple thefts from the Tyson Pork Plant in Storm Lake.
Police allege that Masters took food products for his own personal use from the Tyson property without authorization in May of this year. Police further allege that from May to June of this year while employed at Tyson, Masters removed trailers and reefer units from the property valued at over 45 thousand dollars without authorization and ultimately sold them for personal profit.
Masters is charged with 1st Degree Theft, a class C felony…and 2nd Degree Theft, a class D felony.
He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a five-thousand dollar bond.
