Dickinson County Supervisors Talk Wage Increases For Elected & Non-Elected Employees

December 19, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today (Tues.) approved wage increases for the upcoming fiscal year for both elected and non-elected employees. Elected officials will see an increase of 4.29 percent with the Sheriff getting a 6.43 boost. The county’s Compensation Board had recommended increases of 6.6 and 9.9 percent, respectively. Supervisor Tim Fairchild cautioned, however, the increases could be subject to change later in the budget process due to new legislation from the state that will impact county revenues…

“I’m thinking we should go ahead and set these levels and then as we go through this budgeting process this year, we may find ourselves in some different footing and we’ll just have to change it.”

An increase of 4.29 percent was approved for non-elected employees, which supervisors say could also be subject to change later.
