(Undated)– Some area school board members have received some special recognition. Shelby Haak and Bob Whittenberg, both members of the Spencer School Board; Greta Gruys of Spirit Lake; Sandy Fandel of Estherville-Lincoln Central and Becky Stoltz of the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn School Board recently were presented with Individual Achievement Awards through the Iowa Association of School Boards. The award is given to those who dedicate time and effort to improve their skills and knowledge by attending various learning events put on by the association.
218 school board, area education agency and community college board members from throughout Iowa received the recognition.
