(Sheldon)– No injuries were reported Sunday in a crash on Highway 60 a mile south of Sheldon involving a semi tractor-trailer and an S-U-V.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Ryan Butler of Glenwood, Iowa was driving a 2013 Freightliner semi northbound and 21-year-old Hunter Jensen of Ashton was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer southbound. Deputies say Butler lost control of the semi as he crossed a bridge. The rig went into the median and crossed the southbound lanes of Highway 60, with the vehicle driven by Jensen then colliding with the semi trailer.
Damage to the semi was put at $12,000 while the Ford Explorer sustained an estimated $6,000 in damage.
Butler was cited for failure to maintain control.
