(Lake Park)-One of the area’s largest private light displays is about to be lit for the season. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Lueders Ridiculous Christmas Lights will be turned on for the season Thursday night.
Roxie Lueders says the display features over 200,000 lights and has a new design. “This year we have about 200,000 plus, we don’t count anymore. We had to change up a lot of our display last year because Mother Nature was not so kind. So, we have moved everything around, changed the design of it and it’s got some new stuff.”
She adds that it’s a tradition to light the display on Thanksgiving. “Thursday night at 5:30 we do our first lighting of the year. Ever since we started this we’ve done it Thanksgiving night at 5:30, and after the lights are lit at 5:30 they run until 10:30 nightly until New Year’s Eve.”
She notes that viewers can tune in for music that accompanies the lights. “97.5 is the radio station you tune your car radio to, and you’ll be able to hear the music that the lights are synched up to come across your car radio. You can stay nice and warm while you listen to it.”
The display is located at 1078 110th Street in Lake Park.
