(Estherville)-The holiday season will get underway in Estherville Thursday. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Estherville Chamber will host the annual Holiday in the Ville Thursday evening.
Executive Director Lexie Ruter says things will get underway with The Chocolate Walk. “We start our evening with The Chocolate Walk from 4-7 p.m., which is a great way to get out, get started on your Christmas shopping. You can check out all of the businesses and stores that are open. A lot of them will have holiday specials and sales going on, plus chocolate treats for you to enjoy and then, we have horse-drawn wagon rides downtown that are free. Beautiful horses pulling the horse-drawn sleigh. It’s just a ton of fun. You can check out all the beautiful lights in downtown Estherville.”
She adds that the Parade of Lights will start at 7. “It goes from 13th Street to 5th Street on Central Avenue and we’ve got lots of really awesome lighted parade floats this year, and then following the Parade of Lights, you can meet Santa in Library Square in downtown Estherville. You can bring the kids and they will help Santa use the magic of Christmas to light up the Square and the big tree.. It’s really a magical, fun night. Estherville is straight out of a Hallmark commercial when it comes to Christmas.”
A reminder, Central Avenue is Highway 9 in downtown Estherville, so expect some minor delays during the parade.
