(Worthington)-There’s a special Veterans Day show on tap in Worthington this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Friends of the Auditorium will present a Veterans Day USO Show on Saturday afternoon at The Memorial Auditorium in Worthington.
Managing Director Tammy Makram says Veterans will receive free admission. “Veterans Day happens to fall on a Saturday this year, so that worked out well for us, and we have a local big band called The Fulda Big Band, they are an incredible group. They’ll be playing big band music. We’re going to put on a USO show for Veterans Day, including a famous Bob Hope impersonator that will be MC for the show. So, it will be Bob Hope, and we have a young woman who does Marilyn Monroe and a group that’s doing The Andrews Sisters. It’ll be a really fun afternoon of music for our USO Veterans Day Show on November 11th, and another special thing about that event is that Veterans, their tickets are free for that afternoon show. They do still need to call and reserve a seat because it’s reserved seating, but their tickets will be free.”
The concert will start at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon.
