(Spirit Lake)– School and city elections are tomorrow (Tues.) throughout Iowa. Jordan Moyer oversees elections in the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office. She again has some reminders for those planning to head to the polls Tuesday…
“And on election day you have to remember that you have to go to your polling location. You cannot come to our office to vote. And if you don’t know where you vote, you can actually go on to the Secretary of State’s website and put in your information and it will tell you where you’re going to go to vote.”
It’s also important to remember to have your driver’s license with you…
“They do need to have their driver’s license but let’s say somebody from the same household is with you, you forgot your driver’s license and they have their’s, so long as they have their driver’s license they can attest for you, and you can attest for one person the whole day, and so that’s also an option. We always remind people, just bring your driver’s license.”
Moyer also reminds us the deadline to have absentee ballots into County Auditor’s Offices is almost here…
“Your ballot, if you requested one by mail, needs to be in our office at the close of election day tomorrow at 8:00 pm, otherwise it will not be counted.”
Moyer says you’ll need to bring your absentee ballot to the Auditor’s Office as they do NOT have a drop box.
Polls are open statewide in Iowa Tuesday from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.
