(Lakefield, Mn.)– A crash this (Thurs.) morning on Highway 86 a mile north of the Iowa-Minnesota border injured a Lakefield woman.
The Minnesota State Patrol says it involved a 2020 Jeep Cherokee driven by 54-year-old Heather Croatt of Lakefield and a 2016 Freightliner semi tractor driven by 56-year-old Alan Cords of Janesville, Minnesota. Troopers say the semi had stopped in the southbound lane for another vehicle and that the Jeep Cherokee, driven by Croatt, was also southbound when the two collided.
Croatt was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake with life threatening injuries.
The collision took place around 6:30 this (Thurs.) morning.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene.
