(Welcome, Mn.)- A toddler in Martin County was struck by a bullet on Sunday, when a firearm was discharged by a four year old child. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 10:20 am on Sunday, regarding an accidental shooting. At the time, the caller was driving to Fairmont seeking medical care.
The vehicle was intercepted on its way to Fairmont, where it was discovered a two year old child was a victim of the shooting. After helping render aid, the toddler was then transferred to Mayo Clinic Rochester by air.
According to a press release, the office believes that the four year old child accessed the loaded firearm and accidentally discharged it.
There was no information on the condition of the child that was shot.
