(May City)– Part of the Ocheyedan River is drying up again, for the fifth time in eight years. Osceola County Rural Water gets its drinking water from wells fed by the river and is forced to cut back and pull water from other wells to make up for the dry river. The region has had some of the worst drought conditions in the state for more than a year.
