(Arnolds Park)– Okoboji Performing Arts will hold its annual fundraising gala later this month. Organizer Jessica Schable tells KUOO news their “All Hallows’ Gala” will be held Friday, October 27th at the Roof Garden in Arnolds Park…
“We are encouraging costumes but they are not required. It’s just kind of a fun night out, you know. If you’re interested in dressing up and love doing that, great. Wear your costume. We might have a costume contest and a few awards. We’re going to have hors d’oeuvres, desserts, live music. It’s going to be a really fun event to raise money to support Okoboji Performing Arts’ 2024 season.”
She says tickets are available now…
“You can purchase tickets on our website, www.okobojiperformingarts.com. We also will be selling tickets at the door but we would love it people would buy tickets ahead of time. I need to name drop a few musicians. We’ve got an amazing lineup of musicians for the evening. Jennifer Johnson, Adam Layman, Iesha Toft, Jacob Wittkamp, Brian Moore, Tyler Pederson and Jesse Dagel will be providing live music for the whole party, so it’s just going to be some easy listening jazz stuff at the beginning and then as we get further into the night music you can dance to or just enjoy the concert.”
Schable says the proceeds go toward programming for Okoboji Performing Arts…
“All the money that we raise will help to support bringing in more programming in our 2024 season as well as what we already do: Summer Academy, Artist In Residence, Opera Days that we take to the elementary school to introduce opera and have some interaction there. And then we’ll also have a silent auction for the event but we’re going to open it up here soon, a couple of weeks ahead of time, so all of that information will be on our website.”
She says a couple of guitars donated by Tom Bedell will be among the numerous items up for auction.
