(Spencer)-The Spencer Airport Drags will be held on Sunday. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Black Knights Car Club will host the 15th Annual Spencer Airport Drags on Sunday, October 1.
Club President Denny Houseman says racers need to meet some basic requirements. “It’s basically a car off the street, it’s got to be insured. The driver’s got to have a driver’s license. It has to have DOT tires and then, safety check and if that passes, good to go.”
He adds that the event is a big fundraiser for the Club. “We open up the gates at 9 o’clock. That’s mostly for the cars and the guys that are going to race for the most part, and then at 11 o’clock we start racing. The cost is $30 to race all day, $5 admission for adults, kids are free. We have concessions and we just want to remind folks, it’s one of our fundraiser events. We donate a lot of money to four counties. So, come on out, and oh yeah, bring your lawn chairs.”
The races will continue until 3 pm at The Spencer Airport.
