New President & CEO Of Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corp. Introducing Himself To Local Officials

September 20, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– The new President and CEO of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation is making the rounds introducing himself. Curt Strouth served previously as the Economic Development Director for the city of Sheldon the past 12 years…

“I’m excited to take the next leap and feel this will be a good challenge for me, coming into regional economic development. I’m excited about it. I worked closely with the northwest Iowa regional group which consisted of Lyon county, Sioux county, Cherokee at one point, O’Brien county. So, as you know, northwest Iowa has been a great hub for growth. I think there’s a lot of good things going on up here. Census growth kinds of shows that. Sheldon, the last 10 years we were fortunate to experience about 6.25 percent census growth is the largest in the history of the community at that time. A lot of things go into that. We talk about it, you know, the partners, the collaboration, the things that work well. I think that ties over and carries over the regional approach.”

Strouth was at Monday’s Spencer City Council meeting.

The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation serves Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson and Emmet counties.
