ILCC Sees Increase In Fall Enrollment

September 13, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Estherville)– Iowa Lakes Community College is seeing an increase in its enrollment this fall. Kendra Hough says there’s one area in particular where they’re seeing the growth…

“We have a lot of students that take online. That’s probably our biggest enrollment area. That’s kind of an open book of what students can take so we see a lot of students that do the online classes. But then we also see a lot of students that, you know, come to our campuses and take courses as well. So lots of enrollment, which is great. We like to see those students start with us in high school and hopefully finish with us once they graduate as well.”

Rachel Halma of ILCC says they’re also seeing continued growth in high school credit courses as well…

“So students often reach out to us or they reach out to their counselors when they have questions on their credits, how many credits they’ve taken, if those credits will transfer to different colleges or Iowa Lakes, so we go in and we sit down with them and we review that with them, kind of see where they’re at and help them take that next step.”

Students wanting more information on that should contact their school counselor or go to iowalakes.edu.
