(Undated)– Iowa crops continue to be adversely affected due to another week of above-average temperatures and below-average precipitation.
According to the latest crop progress report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, corn in the state rated good to excellent dropped three points to 46-percent. 38-percent of corn in Iowa has reached maturity, which is one week ahead of last year and six days behind the five-year average.
Iowa soybeans are now 44-percent good to excellent, down five points from last week.
A few corn and soybean harvest reports were received.
In northwest Iowa, 66-percent of both topsoil and subsoil is either short or very short of moisture.
There were about 6.5 days suitable for fieldwork last week in northwest Iowa and statewide.
