(Estherville)– We have another update on ongoing road construction in Estherville. City officials say paving continues on Highway 9 on the west edge of town. They say that effective immediately and continuing through the upcoming weekend, residents of Orchard Lane and Orchard Circle should exit their neighborhood by heading west to West North 9th Street and enter by heading west from the West 1st Street intersection. They say it’s imperative that traffic be one-way westbound as the contractors will be using the unpaved auxiliary lane to feed the paving machine. Paving on the north lane in that area will begin Monday, September 11th. Officials say that at about 9:30 am the paving machine will pass by the entrance to Orchard, at which time the residents in that area will have a 15 to 20 minute delay in entering or exiting their neighborhood. After the machine passes, residents will need to use the ramps in the unpaved area to access the mainline.
Rain that’s in the forecast over the upcoming weekend may have an impact on all of this, however.
City officials in Estherville remind everyone that if you don’t live, work, or need to access a business in the work zone to please stay out of that area.
