(Milford)– Some big changes could be in store for Highway 71 through Milford. The Iowa Department of Transportation recently did a study of the highway at the city’s request. The city is looking into the possibility of making it a three-lane road with a left-hand turning lane to address safety concerns.
The council met Monday evening with Dakin Schultz, a transportation planner with the D.O.T’s regional office in Sioux City. He says the decision is totally up to city officials. The city’s Street Committee will review the matter and bring a recommendation to the council at a later date.
