The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the region which will go into effect at noon today (Mon.) and will continue until 10:00 pm Wednesday.
Forecasters say heat index values, or what it feels like when you factor in the actual air temperature with the humidity, will be up to 115 degrees.
Anyone working or involved in strenuous activities outdoors should take extra precautions and drink plenty of water. Experts say everyone should stay alert for the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
