The Rascals will perform at the Roof Garden Sunday night. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Arnolds Park Amusement Park presents The Rascals at The Roof Garden Ballroom Sunday evening.
Lead Singer and Songwriter, Felix Cavaliere along with lead guitarist Gene Cornish, co-founded The Young Rascals in the 1960s, and went on to have many top hits, such as Good Lovin’, How Can I Be Sure and Groovin’.
Cavaliere says they still love playing the classic tunes. “You know, our generation, we kind of existed because of the radio and because of the lack of what we have today in social media, that was our way of communication, and that’s what we bring to the concert, to the show, is that communication factor of everybody kind o, oh, I remember that! Oh yes, I remember that. We’ve had a great career and to still make music after all these years and still have people that come to see you and have an interest in it, and all the younger crowd comes out to see what it’s all about, I’m very happy to be here, folks, let me tell you.”
He adds that he’s working on a new album:
“I finished an album which I’m hoping to have out in September. It’s kind of interesting, I did an album of five old songs that were redone that influenced me, and five new songs that show that influence, and I’ve finally got it produced now in vinyl.”
The Rascals will take the stage at 7:30 Sunday evening.
