(Emmetsburg)– Some upgrades have been made recently at the Arthur and Audrey Smith Wellness Center at the Emmetsburg campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. The improvements include new state-of-the-art treadmills, bikes, seated ellipticals and other equipment to target multiple muscle groups.
The upgrades were made possible through a grant of a little more than $57,000 from the Palo Alto County Gaming Development Corporation. The project had a total cost of slightly more than $76,000.
The Arthur and Audrey Smith Wellness Center is a partnership between Iowa Lakes Community College, the city of Emmetsburg and citizens of Palo Alto county. It includes a number of amenities, including an indoor pool and sauna, cardiovascular room, weight room, aerobics room, racquetball court, fitness classes, personal training, a gymnasium, and open studio.
