Recent Traffic Stops In Emmet County Result In Arrests

(Estherville)– The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office has released details into some traffic stops earlier this month that resulted in some arrests.

The first took place at 1:30 pm July 11th about two miles north of Estherville on Highway 4. Authorities say a deputy pulled over a vehicle after catching it going 89 mph. Upon investigating it was discovered the driver, 32-year-old Stephanie Reynolds of Dunnell, Minnesota, had a blood alcohol level in excess of three times the legal limit. Reynolds was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated and no driver’s license.

The other took place shortly before midnight July 18th in which a deputy pulled over a vehicle in the 10 block of North 20th Street in Estherville for an equipment violation. An investigation revealed the driver, 29-year-old Terrence Richards of Spirit Lake, didn’t have a valid driver’s license. Controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol were discovered in the vehicle. Richards was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance…1st offense…marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; no driver’s license; and possession of an open container of alcohol on a public roadway.
