(Arnolds Park)-It’s the music of Heart by Heart on Saturday night, featuring original Heart band members and Rock Hall of Famers, Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Live at The Lake Concert Series will continue with Heart by Heart Saturday night at Preservation Plaza.
The band includes original Heart band members Michael Derosier and Steve Fossen.
Fossen says the new group when he met lead vocalist Somar Macek. “Back in 2008, Mike and Roger (Fisher) and I were doing a party. That’s when we met Somer Macek, who is our lead singer for Heart by Heart, so we could do a couple Heart songs. When I met her I was very impressed by her lady-ness and her ability as a singer. We became friends, then that friendship turned into a romance, and that romance created a Bass and Vocal duo, and we called it Heart by Heart.”
He adds that the band delivers the authentic sound of Heart. “Our goal is to recreate the soundscape of what you would actually hear if you went to a concert back in the late ’70s or early ’80s.”
He notes that the show will include video. “We have also created some nostalgic video with pictures and videos from the old days and then, pictures and videos from Heart by Heart, too. So, it’s quite a nice presentation we have on the video wall, too.”
The concert will start at &:30 Saturday night at Preservation Plaza and is free to the public.
