(Boyden)– A head-on collision Thursday evening about three and-a-half miles north of Boyden involving a pickup and a semi-tractor resulted in multiple injuries.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Cody Van Engen of Orange City was driving a 2014 Ford F-250 southbound when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2006 Peterbilt Semi-tractor driven by 63-year-old Robert Feldman of George. The pickup left the road upon impact, coming to rest in a soybean field.
Van Engen and three passengers in his vehicle were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Van Engen was cited for failure to maintain control, driving in the wrong lane and use of an electronic communications device while operating a motor vehicle.
