Demand At Dickinson County’s Food Pantries Remains High

June 28, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Demand at Dickinson county’s food pantries remains high. Kim Wermersen represents the Board of Supervisors on the Dickinson County Hunger Coalition. He says they were pretty busy again over the past several weeks…

“Lake Park served 58 households and 121 people, which when you think about that, that’s a lot of folks we served over in Lake Park. Milford pantry served 37 households or 70 people; and Upper Des Moines continues to serve 90 to 95 people weekly. So we certainly have a lot of folks who are feeling the pressure.”

Wermersen adds the food pantry at Good News Community Church is currently in need of volunteers.
