(Milford)– Multiple injuries were reported Saturday in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 86 at 210th Street on the north edge of Milford.
Milford police say Ryan Nielsen of Arnolds Park was driving a 2016 Honda Accord when he collided with a 2016 GMC Acadia driven by Russell Myers of California. The impact pushed the vehicle driven by Myers into the oncoming lane of traffic where it was struck by a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Eric Guy of Des Moines. Guy and a passenger in his vehicle, Naomi Wittstruck, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. Nielsen and Myers were checked over on the scene by paramedics and refused transport to the hospital.
Nielsen was cited for failure to stop in an assured, clear distance.
The Okoboji Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Milford Fire Department and Lakes Regional Ambulance assisted on the scene.
The crash took place shortly after 1:00 pm.
