Lewis & Clark Regional Water System A Step Closer To Serving Sibley

June 24, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Sibley)– The Lewis and Clark Regional Water System is a step closer to extending service to Sibley. The system’s board of directors recently awarded a contract of nearly $2.3 million to a Boyden company for a meter building at Sibley. Federal funding will be used for the project.

A bid of slightly more than $5 million was awarded for a pump station near Larchwood. That project will increase capacity in that area from a little more than 44 million gallons per day to 60 million.

Lewis and Clark Regional Water System Executive Director Troy Larson says all 20 members of the system are expected to be connected by the summer of 2025. Two major projects still need to be awarded, including the Sibley service line and phase 3 of a water treatment plant. Those bids are expected to be awarded this coming fall and in early 2024, respectively.
