Spencer City Councilman Bill Orrison Stepping Down

(Spencer)– Bill Orrison has officially submitted his letter of resignation from the Spencer City Council. Mayor Steve Bomgaars made the announcement at Monday’s city council meeting…

“We will be sad to see Bill go for sure, but at this time, I would like to urge people who are living in Ward 2 who are interested in running for Ward 2 council to consider that. You’re not able to take out nomination papers until some time in August. Bill has told us for a long period of time that he will be resigning, so it comes as no surprise that he’s resigning. It’s just a little earlier than what maybe we thought.”

Orrison’s resignation is effective July 31st.
