(Okoboji)-The Lakeside Lab Speaker Series will continue Tuesday evening at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Friends of Lakeside Lab Science Speaker Series will feature a talk by Wildlife and Furbearer Biologist Vince Evelsizer, who says he’ll share some stories from his work in the field. “It is not only me, but some of our other staff, especially those staff that are in Wildlife and Law Enforcement, also have a lot of interesting stories, as well. But, it typically gets interesting when there’s a human-wildlife conflict. As you can imagine, there are a few of those going on in a typical week, whether it’s a racoon in an attic or coyotes in an urban area or beavers damming up water where its not wanted, and then, you know sometimes we get an occasional large carnivore such as bear, wolf or mountain lion in our state and so, it can be interesting. It’s typically not boring working with such a topic.”
The Speaker Series starts at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening at Mahan Hall at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory and is free and open to the public.
