(Sioux City)– A Cherokee man has pled guilty in federal court for sexually abusing a child. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 33-year-old James Buckingham was convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor.
As a part of plea agreement, Buckingham admitted to sexually abusing a child under the age of 12, and that he took at least four videos of the abuse.
He was sentenced to nearly 30 months in prison and was ordered to pay a little more in $4,000 in restitution to the victim. He must also serve a seven year term of supervised release following the prison term.
