(Lakefield)- A family home in Lakefield was a total loss after a fire on Sunday morning. The Lakefield Fire Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene around 3:45 am.
The family was able to get out safely thanks to smoke detectors that alerted them to the danger.
Crews spent multiple hours fighting the blaze. There’s been no word on a possible cause but it’s believed to have originated on the second floor.
The family has been displaced and has created a GoFundMe account, which can found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/mccarthy-house-fire?utm_source=facebook&mibextid=Zxz2cZ&fbclid=IwAR3523Y_jrszc90pBlwpT__A566w94Gasade8qygUw8g1Hpec4Ggwq5owkw
