Work Continues On Sewer Separation Project In Spencer

(Spencer)– Construction continues on the latest phase of a sewer separation project in Spencer.

An update on the city’s Facebook page says the contractor will begin reconnections in coming days on East 4^th Street between 6^th Avenue East and 8^th Avenue East.

Replacement of pavement has been completed on 6^th Avenue East between East 3^rd Street and East 4^th Street, but officials say the street in that area will remain closed until backfilling is complete.

Work is continuing with subgrade preparation and placement of pavement subbase material on East 4^th Street between 5^th Avenue East and 6^th Avenue East.

City officials say existing pavements on East 4^th Street between 8^th Avenue East and 10^th Avenue East could be removed toward the end of the week. Residents in that area of Spencer should be prepared to move their vehicles to an alternate location.
