(Spencer)– A project to upgrade traffic signals on Grand Avenue through downtown Spencer is underway. Public Works Director Mark White says components in the current system are obsolete…
“The current system was put in in the ’80’s and is antiquated. We were speaking earlier that the components were obsolete and the last time we had to put a used component in and soldered it in in the field. It will be a nice upgrade. It will be improved timing with kind of a modified adaptive timing that will change and hopefully improve traffic flow and pedestrian movement in the downtown with pedestrian buttons that are ADA accessible.”
Plans call for most of that work to be completed in the coming weeks.
White gave an update on the project during a city council meeting earlier this week.
